Dr. Andreas Hoynigg

President

Dr. Andreas Hoynigg

(°1961, Austria) PhD in Law from the University of Vienna (1984):

Mr Hoynigg started his career in Consulting for EFS and Boston Consulting Group in the area of Investment feasibility studies. Following this, he moved into the software industry where he founded his own company, HR Software GmbH. His company then merged with BEST SOFTWARE Inc. in 1998, and Mr Hoynigg took on the role of CEO Europe. After BEST SOFTWARE was acquired by SAGE Software Ltd in 2000, Mr Hoynigg then founded Executrack Software GmbH, a new HR software company, which he built up to be an international market leader in the Talent Management software market. Executrack was acquired in 2007 by the Norwegian public Company, StepStone and Mr. Hoynigg became VP International at StepStone until 2009. From 2009 – 2010, he has been a serial entrepreneur and investor in the Solar Energy industry, having invested in and developed five Solar Power Plants in Italy.

Jo L. Goossens

Jo L. Goossens

(°1962, Belgium) Master in Applied Economics (Major Finance) University of Antwerpen (1985), Master in Management (MBA) Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (1993):

In the first part of his career, Mr Goossens gained 15 years of Sales, Marketing and General management experience in the FMCG industry with blue chip companies, such as Unilever, Campbell’s and CPC Bestfoods.

End 1999 he changed to the StepStone Group (Online Recruitment / Talent Management). Mr Goossens has been a member of the Group Executive Board from 2002 until 2009, and as Divisional Managing Director, he was responsible for a large scale (€ 100M) international M&A programme in the Company. More recently, he has gained extensive experience as an independent Business Consultant for several Private Equity Funds and individual companies that actively operate in various industries throughout Europe.

Dr. Werner Wieland

Werner M. Wieland-Chief Technology Officer( ° 1962, Italy) Board member Solar8 Energy AG, Physics Science studies at Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck, Austria (Thesis in Elektronik, controle technique):

Until 1995, Mr Wieland was responsible for the IT department of the Meran Hospital Group. As Project Manager for Development at Viptronic, he developed the world’s fastest and most precise Densitometer for colour measurement in printing machines (MAN Roland), In 2003, he moved to DEMAC GmbH (manufacturers of snow cannons) as Head of the Electronics and Information Systems Division, where his prime responsibility was to manage technical product development. His vast experience in IT, control technique, machine design & development of products that need to function in harsh climates, is invaluable and highly relevant to our work at Solar8. Mr Wieland developed a new highly efficient tracking system, specifically for Solar8. His many years of experience in the planning and execution of major technical building projects, together with his personal network of contacts in Southern Italy, will enable Solar8 to execute the construction plans for their Power Plants, quickly and efficiently.

Thomas Verhoeven – Non-Excutive Director ( °1947) PhD in Law at the Universities of Cologne and Bielefeld - Lawyer:

From 1982 – 2000, Thomas Verhoeven was a Partner of Boden Oppenhoff & Schneider (and successive firms) in Cologne, as well as head of the New York office of Oppenhoff & Rädler from 1991 - 2000. From December 2000 – 2004, he was a Partner in Kirkland & Ellis International LLP, and head of their German department in London. From 2004 - 2005, as well as being a Partner, Dr Verhoeven co-founded their Munich office. From October 2005 – January 2008, he took on the role as Of Counsel in Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Dr Verhoeven then acquired his own offices and, since February 2008, has specialised in (i) advising shareholders and stockholders (ii) litigation in corporate matters (iii) M&A and private equity transactions (iv) German anti-trust filings (v) granting of collateral in financings of M&A transactions. Dr Verhoeven advised Deutsche Bank AG on litigation matters, during his time in Cologne, international companies in transactional matters and, throughout recent years, private equity firms, such as Audax Group, CapVest, Golden Gate Capital, Madison Dearborn Partners and MidOcean Partners.

Dr. Andreas Kailich, Non-Executive Director( ° 1962, Germany) : Chief Investment Officer at HBK Partners: PhD in Finance at the University of Business Administration in Vienna, Austria:

He published his doctorial thesis “Option-Trading Strategies and Theoretical Pricing Models” in 1985. He has been active in the asset management and the investment banking industry for 20 years.From 1993 – 2007, Dr. Kailich has been a Managing Director in the US Equities Division at Bear Stearns New York. In addition to his managerial responsibilities, he has managed discretionary accounts and has advised European institutional clients in US equities and derivative Strategies.From 1988 – 1993, Dr. Kailich was a Senior Vice President at Oppenheimer & Co.Inc. in London and New York in the institutional equities division. He advised Japanese insurance companies on derivative strategies for their US equities portfolios which exceeded $3 billion. From 1985 – 1988 Dr. Kailich co-managed $1 billion in ERISA pension funds as US portfolio manager at NM Rothschild & Sons in London.
